Shuttle-shaped black composition box, the hinged cover and base inlaid with diagonal three-colour metal wires, the sides similarly inlaid with vertical piqué-posé wires, the lid and base centred by piqué-posé flowersprays engraved in four-colour gold, the wavy gold mounts of lid and base bright-cut and engraved with chevrons, the pierced thumbpiece stamped with a flower flanked by reeded scrolls and foliage, wavy gold flange
