A GERMAN ROCOCO GOLD-MOUNTED ENAMEL SNUFF-BOX
Southern Germany, possibly Augsburg or Schrezheim, circa 1740/1760
Cartouche-shaped white enamelled copper box with hinged slightly concave lid and waisted body, the inside and outside of cover and the side walls painted with scenes from the Joseph's Legend, the base painted with fruit and and the inside of the base with a grasshopper, plain gold mounts with wavy thumbpiece
