A GEORGE II GOLD-MOUNTED HARDSTONE NEEDLE CASE
circa 1750/1760
Tapering flattened quiver-shaped translucent grey agate étui lined with red sealing wax and gold, the angular wavy domed top applied with a floral gold rosette and mounted with a gold band at the lower end with inscription GAGE DE MON AMITIE on white enamel, the gold mounts of cover and base stamped, pierced and embossed with c-scrolls and garlands of flowers, rose-cut diamond pushpiece on front side
