(67 mm.) diam., gold and gilt-metal mounts, set on the cover of a gold mounted dark composition bonbonnière, the gold mounts by Henry Garand (fl. 1788-1793), marked, with the charge and discharge marks of Jean-François Kalendrin 1789-1792, the flange engraved 'DONNEE PAR LEURS MAJESTES A MR PUTOD CAPITAINE DE LEURS GARDES 17 7BR 91'
Provenance
According to an inscription engraved on the flange of the gold mount, presented by King Louis XVI and Queen Marie-Antoinette to Mr Putod, Captain of their Guards, on 17 September 1791.
