manner of André Magnin, Geneva, circa 1820/1830, struck with a 14-carat gold mark
Rectangular box with bulging sides, the cover and base panels engine-turned with a radiating sunburst, within matted borders decorated with parcel-enamelled stylized acanthus, the sides stamped with stylized acanthus parcel-enamelled en taille d'épargne on opaque sky-blue and black, slightly raised wavy plain gold thumbpiece, the inside of the lid later engraved with initials 'SMR'
