Rectangular upright box of oblong section, the hinged domed cover centred by a blank lozenge framed by foliage chased in three-colour gold, the front and rear sides decorated with laurel swags and flower garlands on a vertically reeded ground scattered with pellets, within polished strapwork, the front centred by a putto at a burning altar of love in a landscape, and on the back a landscape with fountain in front of a house, the gold base engraved with initials 'R. P.', silver-mounted rectangular-cut diamond pushpiece
