Octagonal box, the cover enamelled en plein with a view of a mountainous lakeside landscape with three shepherds watering their cattle and sheep in the foreground, within a narrow blue enamel and split-pearl border, the base and four side panels engine-turned with a vertical coin pattern enamelled in translucent blue, black and purple with floating lozenges separated by vertical black lines, the base framed by black enamelled gold bands with parcel-blue and white enamelled taille d'épargne scalloped gold decoration, the side panels flanked by engraved columns decorated with blue enamelled lozenges, the four canted corners enamelled in black and engraved en taille d'épargne with vases parcel-enamelled in sky blue and white
