bearing marks resembling the maker's mark of Noël Hardivilliers (fl. 1729-1771), resembling the Paris date-letter 'D' for 1767/1768, resembling the charge and discharge marks of Jean-Jacques Prévost 1762-1768
Ingot-shaped box, the cover, side and base panels enamelled in red-freckled green to simulate bloodstone and decorated with engraved taille d'épargne gold scenes depicting Rococo and Oriental horsemen and ladies in landscapes, all framed by broad matted borders enamelled with translucent green trailing foliage and translucent red husks in the corners, polished gold rims
