The center gilt with a rosette, the borders drawn in black on a pale pink ground with stylized palmettes between mottled apple-green narrow bands edged on one side in black and on the other in gilt, gilt line rims, comprising:
An octagonal dish, 9¼ in. (23.5 cm.) wide
A circular dish, 9 in. (23 cm.) diameter
2 two-handled sauceboats, 9 in. (23 cm.) long
2 serving spoons, 7½ in. (19 cm.) long
24 plates, 9½ in. (24 cm.) diameter
Six custard-cups and covers, 3 5/8 in. (9.2 cm.) high overall (42)

Lot Essay

The elegant simplicity of the decoration on the present service, its subtle green ground purposefully mottled in imitation of marble and its delicate pale pink ground peaking out from behind the finely drawn black palmettes are all indicative of Berlin K.P.M. workmanship at its peak.
