LIMITED EDITION, number 181 of 600 sets of the "Autograph Centenary Edition," with one leaf (2pp.) of an AUTOGRAPH MANUSCRIPT by Emerson tipped in to volume I, a series of notes, presumably on a book he is reading: "Military men are incapable of seeing over their usages... The English respect wealth, & rank; & the two together, as in the case of court favor, are irresistable to them... Brutal things come out in Parliament now & then."
