18TH CENTURY, THE BOWL WITH CHENGHUA SIX CHARACTER MARK, KANGXI
Comprising a 'klapmuts' bowl painted with two ladies watching boys at play in a fenced garden, the interior with a roundel of a sage, below a trellis-pattern border enriched with peony around the everted rim, 20.9 cm. diam.; a set of three saucer dishes painted with birds in flight above plants issuing from rockwork, 21 cm. diam.; a pair of plates painted with peony and moulded with petal-shaped panels below the scallopped rim, 21.4 cm. diam.; and an oblong quatrefoil serving bowl, supported on four washed-blue shell-shaped feet, decorated with two peacocks among flowering peony in a fenced garden, 31.3 cm. wide, chips and cracks (7)
