With brown-edged petalled rim, painted in the Japanese early 18th Century Kakiemon-style with a scholar and his attendant on a terrace overlooking another figure in the garden with plantain and prunus blossom, minute rim frittings, 13.2 cm. diam.; and a saucer decorated with radiating aster stems encicling a floral meander, cracks, 15.5 cm. diam.
