A rare blue and white deep dish
KANGXI
Painted to the central scene with an attendant bringing a pot of tea to a pair of scholars seated at a table in a terraced garden, the deep well encircled by four quatrefoil cartouches of carp and crabs on a diaper-pattern ground, the everted rim depicting figure scenes showing various phases of the silk production below a brown-edged border.
The six scenes depicting the silk production, starting from the upper left, anti-clockwise, are:
1. Collecting mulberry leaves
2. The mulberry leaves are shredded into small pieces and spread on mats
3. The cocoons are sorted and stored in a well-aired room
4. Unwinding of the cocoons
5. Silk weaving
6. Two women carrying bales of silk

Christie's charges a Buyer's premium calculated at 23.205% of the hammer price for each lot with a value up to €110,000.
