THE INKSTONE BOX WITH GUANGXU FOUR CHARACTER MARK
The rectangular box supported on four short feet, the cover incised in gilt with lines of calligraphy, a plain black rectangular inkstone within, some cracks, 13.7 x 9.2 cm; a small wood sealbox and sliding cover, the ivory seal incised in black around the sides with various boys and calligraphy, a separate compartment for the red ink, 9.6 cm. long; and a water-pot modelled as a small melon, approx. 7 cm. diam.
