Of U-shape form, the curved moulded cornice above a plain frieze and open adjustable bookshelves, between half columns with acanthus-leaf capitals, the base with eight pairs of panelled doors enclosing a brown-painted shelf and interior, the arched end with eight drawers on each side, each with a black slate plaque, framing a doorway flanked by pilasters and surmounted by a curved shelf and panel, flanked by columns, with later backboards painted brown, originally fitted, restorations
