Descriptif du lot

The distinctive marquetry decoration on this commode is clearly inspired by the work of the celebrated Milanese ebanista Giuseppe Maggiolini, (1738-1814) and similar examples of this decoration can be seen on commodes illustrated in G. Morazzoni, Il Mobile Intarsiato di Giuseppe Maggiolini, Milan, 1957, plates IL and LXIX.
