Mariquita is shown racing ahead of Octavia and Noroda in the 19-metre class race at the Cowes Regatta of 1911. Such yachts, twenty-five metres long and weighing 100 tonnes, were called 'greyhounds' because of their speed in light winds. Though they strike us as truly enormous today, their size was considered quite reasonable at that time.
