Le Seraphins de L'enfance, a carved and painted wood toy theatre for shadow uppets, the elaborate facae summounted by a bsket of flowers and urn shaped finials, the removable sides carved with berries and swirling acanthis leaves, with painted cloth curtain and a box containning seven wood framed, hand coloured backdrops including a volcano erupting in moonlight over water, two casles and a street scene and seven trays of black shadow pupets, props and scenery with white highlights, wood sticks and name tags on the revese in Dutch, some with wired articulations, the tray compartments labelled with the name of the play, 1890s --48½in. (123cm.) high
