CIRCA LATE 1ST-2ND CENTURY A.D.
Semicircular in form with a separately-made base and fragmentary lid, the inscribed panel on the front framed by a garland of pinecones, fruits and flowers, suspended by ribbons tied to the curled horns of a ram's head at each corner, two birds above and two below, similar garlands on the curving side tied to a central ram's head, birds and bees feasting on the fruits above and below, a patera centered by a gorgoneion and an oinochoe in the field, the scenes framed by tongues above and beading below; the base decorated with tongues and egg-and-dart, with four dolphins at the corners; deeply-carved rosettes and scrolling vines on the upper surface of the fragmentary lid, a band of wave above petals on the rim
