A ROMAN BRONZE BROOCH
CIRCA 2ND CENTURY A.D.
Cast with Leda and the Swan, Leda reclining to the left, raised on her elbows, the swan positioned between her bent knees; together with an Etruscan white stone votive, circa 2nd century B.C., in the form of muscular internal organs, likely a uterus and intestines; a Roman terracotta pendant, circa 2nd-4th century A.D., with a lovemaking scene in the round, both figures standing, the man penetrating the woman from behind; and a fragmentary glass vessel, amber in color, presumably from a vessel in the form of a seated figure
Brooch: 1 7/8 in. (4.8 cm.) long (4)
