A Japanese gold lacquer fan-shaped box and cover
inlaid in mother-of-pearl and ivory and in hiramakie and takamakie with a boy holding a banner and another with a horn among pine and rockwork, the sides with birds and butterflies among flowers, the interior fitted with a tray inlaid and decorated with a parakeet on its perch above foliage, the interior of cover decorated with an elephant cart, a flute and a fan -- 5.in (12.7cm) long, (one inlaid head of boy missing, minor chips).
