Lot Essay

On his return from India, William Daniell completed his Tour Round Great Britain. Travelling from Land's End to Holyhead in 1814 and Holyhead to Creetown on which tour this present watercolour was executed. In 1821 he went from St Andrew's to Southend and in 1822 from Sheerness to Torquay and finally in 1823 from Torquay to Land's End.
