Between 1918 and 1920 Lowry made a series of drawings of visitors and colleagues at the Pall Mall Property Company. A number of these are in the collection of the Lowry Centre, Salford.

signed 'L S Lowry' (lower left) and signed with initials and dated 'LSL/1920' (lower right), signed again, inscribed and dated 'Portrait Study/LS Lowry/1920' (on the reverse)

with two personal letters, inscribed 'Dear Mr Kenton,/It was very good of you to send/that cheque and I have handed/it over to:-/abbeyfield old Peoples Homes/I did this enclosed sketch/of a head a long time ago-/do hope your wife will/like it/Yours sincerely/L.S. Lowry' and dated 14 Oct 1975; the other inscribed 'Dear Mr Kenton,/I am very sorry to have been so/long in replying to your letter due to/absence from here./I am afraid I have done no/work for some time not since 1965 to be/exact. I havent done anything since then. I/have nothing I could let you have. so I must/return your cheque - I am sorry/but there it is I am afraid. Yours sincerely/L S Lowry'
