The blade hira-zukuri, iorimune, uchizori with an extremely wide kasane of 1.55cm at the munemachi, itamehada with ji-nie, kikusui hamon of nie, ubu nakago signed Seito Tada kore o Shoji [made for Seito Tada] and dated Bunka 11th year [1815], nagasa 8 7/16in. (21.4cm.), in its red textured saya inlaid with a constellation in brass, the kurikata a ring on a shibuichi dogane, sentoku fuchi-kashira depicting birds and foliage in shakudo and copper, associated, brass saya mounts, quadrilobed iron tsuba, iron kozuka, 19th century
