Signed Koma Koryu, Meiji Period (Late 19th Century)
Oval with integral himotoshi, gold lacquer ground with sparsely sprinkled gold hirame verging on nashiji, decoration in gold hiramaki-e, takamaki-e and gold foil and inlaid in stagantler and takazogan, compartments and risers gold nashiji, one side with a herdsman playing the flute and an ox beneath a willow tree, the reverse with birds flying above grasses, signed with gold hiramaki-e characters on the base Koma Koryu saku, slight old wear
