A REMARKABLE COLLECTION OF TOP QUALITY MATURE BORDEAUX FROM A PERFECT CELLAR
The following lots, 49 to 97, were recently removed from the ideal cellar conditions of a country house in Kent. No temperature and humidity control - just the perfect natural, ambient conditions of a cool, underground cellar. The wines have been collected and enjoyed over a 40 year period by a knowledgable and enthusiastic 'amateur' under the guidance of a passionate understanding merchant and the selection on offer here reflects the owner's buying policy over those four decades - a golden period for the wines of Bordeaux. The condition and levels detailed below also indicate the quality of the storage over this extended period.

Classics abound, from the magnums of Latour 1961, through choice selections from the 1964 and 1966 vintages, coming up to date with the 1990 vintage via stop-offs in 1970, 1975, 1978, 1982 and 1989. Once upon a time this type of classic 'Gentleman's cellar' was the mainstay of London salerooms. Nowadays genuine 'one-owner' wines of this age and provenance are becoming something of a rarity.

Now lying in Twickenham, Middlesex
