It is very rare to find a set of garniture of this design. However, examples of single pieces or pairs of vases have been previously offered for sale. Compare two pairs of vases and stands of similar design, sold in Sotheby's London, 28 Oct 1988, lot 501 and 503; and another pair from the Goldschmidt Collection sold in these Rooms, 29th of June, 1938, lot 170. A comparable two-handled vase of slightly different design from the same collection was sold in the same sale as lot 169.
