Lot Essay

This is a version of the earliest Steiff jointed bear that has ever appeared on the market. This rod bear is the second stage in Steiff's development, which would later on become known all over the world as the Teddy Bear. The elusive first Steiff (Teddy) bear with cord joints is yet to re-appear.

The PB35 (P plush B bewglich jointed 35 size in centimeters seated) has very distinct characteristics as described above and is a very solid bear. This example is the finest condition that Christie's has ever offered.
