ESTALA, Pedro.
4o (200 x 150 mm). (Wormhole with old repair, affecting a few letters.) Later vellum.
Third edition and first Buenos Aires edition, first printed in Madrid, and Lima. Estala's letters to a fictional "Mi estimado amigo" are highly critical of the British plans to take over the territory. The tone of the letters is quite bitter, satirical and condescending. The author was, according to Palau, one of the most important humanists of his time, he also published a notable collection of poems under the name of Ramón Fernández. Furlong II:954; Palau 83423.
