KANGXI AND 20TH CENTURY
The bottle vase delicately painted in cobalt blue in reserve with a dragon chasing flaming pearls, the base with the character bao (treasure), 4 3/8 in. (11 cm.) high; The cup anhua-decorated in the interior with egrets standing in a lotus pond around the nianhao, 2¾ in. (7 cm.) diam. (2)

Lot Essay

The decoration appears to have been achieved by gently scoring the dragon away from the cobalt blue ground rather than by painting the blue and leaving the fine outlines unpainted
