YONGLE (1403-25)
With deep rounded sides, incised on the exterior with a leafy composite scroll bearing alternating chrysanthemum and camellia below a key-pattern border, and in the interior with a chrysanthemum spray enclosed within a wide band of radiating moulded chrysanthemum petals below moulded waves, all under an even white glaze stopping neatly around the foot

Komor, Imperial Porcelains of the Ming Dynasty, New York, 1951, no. 23, subsequently sold in our New York Rooms, 20th September 2001, lot 133; and one, possibly from the Kenneth Malcome Collection, exhibited in the Oriental Ceramic Society Exhibition, 1948, Cat. no. 108, sold in these Rooms, 17 June 2003, lot 18.
