FIRST ALDINE EDITION, second issue, with 'Propertius' on title. Fletcher (New Aldine Studies) has argued that the date is 'new style', i.e. January 1502, which makes it among the earliest books printed in Aldus's innovative series of libri portatiles, works of Greek and Latin classics and Italian poetry printed in octavo-format with Griffo's italic types. Adams C-1138; Renouard 39:16.
