Lot Essay

The Leica MP was introduced in 1956. MP1 to MP12 were presentation models and were finished in chrome, MP13-MP150 were finished in black and MP151 onwards were chrome. The highest recorded serial number is MP402.

Christie's has previous offered black examples nos. 19, 35, 56 and 74; and chrome examples: 4, 7, 9, 166, 293, 372, 376 and 398.
