Lot Essay

A very similar example with French 'stamps' was sold in these rooms, 10 December 2002, lot 33 for £2,585 as part of The 'Paris' collection of Stamp Boxes. That sale also included a similar single stamp box, again with a French 'stamp', lot 34, £1,645, and a double stamp box with Norwegian 'stamps', lot 53 which sold for £1,998.
