With nickel-finished lever movement, 26 jewels, the black dial with luminous triangular, dot and baton indexes, luminous Mercedes-style hands, sweep center seconds, Submariner in red, magnified date aperture, the tonneau-shaped water-resistant-type case with revolving black bezel calibrated for 60 units, screw back and screw down crown, together with a stainless steel Rolex Oyster bracelet and clasp, case, dial and movement signed

Lot Essay

Production of this model, reference 1680, was launched in 1966 and was the first Submariner model to include a date function on the dial. The word 'Submariner' was printed in red for only the first few years of production.
