Lot Essay

In 1968, Rolex issued a special series of the reference 5513 to the British Royal Navy for use in the field. This model is distinguished by its solid strap bars, which were fitted with a special non-reflective strap, and featured a T in a circle on the dial, identifying the luminous paint to the indexes and hands as tritium. Such examples of the reference 5513 are more rare and come to auction less frequently.
