This watch is accompanied by a Cartier Certificat De Garantie Internationale confirming the purchase of this watch on 19 Feb 1991.
The Cartier Crash was initially released in very few numbers by Cartier of London in the late 1960's. The unusual case design is immediately reminiscent of the familiar paintings of Salvador Dali.

During the 1970s and 1980s, clients were able to special order the Crash through Cartier of London. The hallmarks on the present lot date the watch to 1990.

A similar watch is illustrated in Le Temps de Cartier by Jader Barracca, Giampiero Negretti and Franco Nencini, 1st edition, p.295.
