Signed Henri Robert, a Paris, No. 4905, circa 1850
With circular gilt-finished cylinder movement, plain three-arm brass balance, the white enamel dial with Arabic ten-minute divisions, outer seconds track, subsidiary dial indicating 30 minute register, large center hand with ink bowl and discharging pointer, the dial and movement on a brass square, a push button to the lower left corner to stop the movement, button to lower right corner to activated the inking chronograph mechanism, winding key to upper right corner, all housed within a fitted wooden box entirely covered in leather, dial signed, movement numbered

The inking chronograph is operated by means of a hand composed of two parts. The lower part is fitted with an ink bowl and the upper part with a think needle which, when activated, compresses the lower part to release a trace of ink on the dial giving a visual readout of the elapsed time.
