With nickel-finished jewelled lever movement, the black dial with luminous Arabic numerals, outer chapter ring calibrated for 60 units, luminous hands, two subsidiary dials indicating constant seconds and 30 minute register, the circular case with fluted rotating bezel, screw back, downturned lugs, two round chronograph butons in the band, case signed, movement numbered

This watch was originally sold at auction as property from the Mel Blanc collection, Christie's 29 October 1997, sale 8762, lot 237.

Lot Essay

This wristwatch was made for military aviators and bears interesting design details. The large size and black dial with luminous numerals and hands makes the watch very easy to use in day or night conditions. Also, the non-reflective brushed finish to the case helps to soften the reflections of light off the case.
