A NEZ PERCE CHILD'S BEADED HIDE ENSEMBLE
consisting of a vest, leggings, and moccasins, each flat stitched in primarily white-heart red and two shades of blue beads against a white beaded ground, the vest, with open sides, decorated on the front with stepped zigzag bands and cross motifs, the back, with three geometric devices flanked by zigzag bands, cross motifs on the bottom edge; the leggings, constructed of red wool, each with beaded panel of compressed diamond motifs alternating with cross motifs; the moccasins, fully beaded, each decorated on the vamp with three stepped diamonds, and around the ankle with stepped triangles, a band of triangles in green beads encircles the foot, the soles decorated with two compressed diamonds flanked by two cross motifs against a blue beaded ground

This lot is accompanied by a tag which states, "This Indian outfit has been given to the Hamilton Public Library by Fred and Don Fischer, in memory of their mother and father. It is a Chief son's outfit from the State of Washington, November 9, 1972."
