A George II silver inkstand
Mark of George Methuen, London, 1757, the bell with mark of Abstainando King, London, 1811
Shaped oblong, on four foliate, scroll and demi-lion's mask feet, with gadrooned border and foliate and strapwork angles, with two pen-wells, fitted with an ink-pot with glass liner and a sander, each cylindrical with gadrooned borders and detachable pierced cover, also with a later, baluster shaped reeded bell, the stand later engraved with a crest with baron's coronet above, marked under base of stand, pots, and one cover, on side and inside of bell, the stand also engraved with scratchweight '58-16'

The crest is that of Vanneck for the Barons Huntingfield
