Two Queen Anne silver tazze
Mark of Pierre Platel, London, 1705 and 1706
Each circular, on slightly domed part spirally-fluted circular foot, with gadrooned and reeded borders, the field engraved with a crest within strapwork and foliate mantling, marked on reverse, each also engraved with scratchweight '35-15' and '35=8'

The arms are those of Wolseley presumably for Sir Charles Wolseley 2nd Bt. (d.1714) of Wolseley, co. Stafford. Sir Charles was M.P. for Oxford in 1653, for the county of Stafford between 1654 and 1658 and Stafford in 1660. A favourite of Oliver Cromwell, he married Anne, youngest daughter of 1st Viscount Sale and Sele in 1649. (2)
