A Spanish Colonial silver bowl
Late 17th/early 18th century, probably Guatemalian
Partly-lobed hemispherical on shaped circular foot, with two cast pierced foliate scroll and native American mask handles, with slightly flared rim, engraved with a frieze of animals, birds, hunters, fruit and foliage between ribbon-tied garlands, the field with the figure of a man on horseback within a stylized foliate border, the base engraved with initials, apparently unmarked
