The nose is deceptively elegant; soft aromatic floral fruit. It's a different story on the palate; this wine is a huge rich extracted Californian beast; very tight dark fruit, dry, powdery tannins on the finish. There's loads here, beautiful balance & length, a really fine wine that needs at least 10-15 more years in the cellar. Dec 2001 DW
