etching with drypoint and engraving, 1649, second (final) state, a fairly good impression before the Bailie re-work, with traces of burr to the skirt of the woman offering her child, with an elaborate watermark, with narrow margins, an inconspicuous stain to the left of the man with the cane, a minor loss in the upper margin just touching the subject, a central vertical crease visible only on the reverse, minor defects and thin spots on the reverse along the upper sheet edge where previously mounted
