(12 7/8in.) long (open); another in brass-mounted fruitwood stamped W. WATSON & SON 313 HIGH HOLBORN LONDON, of similar form, with additional tables on each side and graduated along the length in inches -- 30.5cm. (12in.) long (open); three later examples in plain and black enamelled steel, two stamped M.D.S. Ltd, LONDON, one numbered 1454, each with eyepiece for viewing the bubble level, semi-circular scale and vernier, the two by MDS with additional magnifier, the longest -- 15.2cm.
