signed on the compass MORRISON BROS LTD GLASGOW 208 , the 25.5cm. long telescope with objective dust-cover and ray-shade and rack and pinion focusing, the vertical circle with silvered scale and verniers, twin magnifiers, bubble level, micrometer fine adjustment and clamp, held between two uprights, one with bubble level, over the glazed compass with circumference scale, edge bar needle and clamp, the horizontal circle with enclosed silvered scale, twin silvered verniers, magnifiers, bubble level, micrometer fine adjustment and clamp, on a splayed triform base with three adjustable brass feet, with tripod mounting, in a fitted mahogany carrying case with some green felt padding and two brass hooks and eyes -- 34.7cm. (13½in.) wide; a brightly lacquered-brass surveying level by TROUGHTON & SIMMS LONDON with rack and pinion focusing to the eyepiece, objective dust-cover and ray-shade, two bubble levels and tripod mounting incorporating four adjustable screw feet, with a spare eyepiece in a fitted mahogany case with two brass hooks and eyes -- 41.8cm.
