A late 18th-Century brass augsburg-pattern equinoctial compass sundial,
signed on the underside of the compass box Johann Schrettegger in Augsburg, the chapter ring graduated in hours 3-12, 1-9, with sprung gnomon, the horizontal plate with folding latitude arm, folding plummet support (plummet missing) and glazed compass with blued-iron needle and initials for six compass directions, with three turned feet on the underside, in a blue plush-lined mahogany box with brass catch, the lid inscribed with a simple wind rose -- 9cm.
