signed Mathey Freres, New York, circa 1830
the frosted bar movement with hanging barrel and cylinder escapement, brass balance wheel and ruby endstone, the engine-turned gold dial with eccentric polished pink gold minute and Arabic five minute rings centred by a pink gold minute hand, subsidiary seconds at 6, aperture at 12 for the jumping hour flanked by applied two colour gold garlands of flowers, in open face yellow gold case with engine turned back centred by a small signed cartouche, heavily moulded rim and bezel with floral decoration and rope-twist band, gilt cuvette signed, case numbered 4316
