CIRCA 1723-25
Painted in Eisenrot by J.G. Höroldt with a continuous scene of Orientals flanked by flowering shrubs on terraces above a double line border, one Oriental with his hands concealed beneath his robes and seated by a birdcage, the other nearby with a small dog playfully jumping at her feet, with insects in flight above, the interior with a figure fishing near a pavilion within a double concentric circle cartouche below a double concentric circle border at the rim (minute scratch to left of birdcage)

A sugar-box with similar decoration was sold in these Rooms on 8th July 2002, lot 3, and a teapot was sold in these Rooms on 28th June 1976, lot 143.
